Our Ministries

It is our desire to serve you and to seek to meet your spiritual needs, but it is also our goal to encourage you in your personal walk with Christ and help you find your place to serve.
Here are some ways you can get plugged into our church today:
Music
We believe that music is the gateway to preparing our hearts for the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, as it directs our hearts and minds away from ourselves and our circumstances and shifts our gaze to our Heavenly Father. Please come join us in praise as we worship our Lord and Creator with Christ-honoring music that glorifies Jesus as our Savior and King.
Online Bible Studies
We would love for you to connect with us as we closely study the Word of God together in an online environment.
Sunday Morning Service-11 AM
Join us at 11 AM every Sunday morning as we come together in the corporate worship of our great God. Our pastor will bring us a message from the Bible in order to point us to the Truth of the Word of God and to inspire us as we seek to further our own walk with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Adult Sunday School
More than just a class, our Adult Sunday School is a conversational environment for discipleship. We dive into biblical truths together, encouraging questions, sharing insights, and building relationships centered on Christ. It’s a place to move beyond Sunday morning worship into practical application, fostering spiritual growth and meaningful connections within our church family.

 

Meet Our Leadership

The leadership of our congregation grows from within. It starts in the pews—in the Sunday School rooms, fellowship hall, and prayer circles—and rises naturally into roles of service. The pastor works alongside a team of deacons, trustees, and a treasurer, all of whom are fellow members you might sit beside on a Sunday morning. We believe God speaks through the gathered church, not just a single voice, so decisions are shaped through listening, praying, and leaning on the wisdom God has planted in this congregation. Our leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about stewarding the gifts of this family to love God, love one another, and serve our neighbors well.

From the music to the message, our services are a homegrown expression of our faith. A volunteer team of musicians leads us in worship, and the sermons are preached by men from our own congregation—men whose lives are rooted in a love for Jesus and a dedication to His Word.

The Good News!

The Good News

Jesus Christ came to this earth, lived, and died more than 2000 years ago.
So, why do people around the world still follow Him?
It’s simple.
Jesus was no ordinary man.
Jesus demonstrated by his miracles and his resurrection from the dead that He was who He said He was…God in human form.
Why did Jesus come, live a perfect life and allow cruel men to put Him to death on a cross?
Because of His love.
The Apostle John summed it up best in his gospel when he said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
You see, God had set up rules for this world – the 10 Commandments.
Mankind broke those rules and sinned against God.
The GOOD NEWS is that the death and resurrection of Jesus gives you and I a way to have our sins forgiven, have a relationship with God in this life, and enjoy Heaven in the next.
By turning from our own way to get to Heaven and trusting fully in the payment that Jesus made for our salvation on the cross, we can have that forgiveness that we need.
The decision to believe in what Jesus did for you is the first step in a life-long relationship with God.

Introduction

Northside Baptist Church is such a spiritual home.
We are a group of Bible-believing, mission-minded Christians who are striving to know Christ, to grow in His Word, and to consistently live a Spirit-filled Christian life for the glory of God each day. We are a diverse group of people from a variety of different walks of life who are focused on only one truly important thing-a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

The preaching of the Word of God is of paramount importance to us here at Northside Baptist Church. Each week, our speakers prepare and diligently to present messages that will help encourage each believer in his or her personal walk with Christ and inspire each to grow deeper in their relationship with Him.

    What to Expect When Visiting Northside Baptist

    The Northside Baptist church family is a caring group of people from all walks of life. Like most congregations in Cape Breton, we have many seniors in our congregation that provide inspiration and leadership to the younger people who attend. Our church service consists of singing hymns together, reading Scripture, praying, and teaching/preaching the truths of the Word of God. If you visit, you won’t be embarrassed or pressured to do anything. We want you to be comfortable and to have the time and space to follow God’s leading in your heart about participation in our congregation. So come, listen, learn, and be encouraged.
